The power switch is on, but there are no lights on inside, and no local forecast.
Attempt to reset the Star pressing the thermal reset button on the inside right wall.

The unit has been on for hours, but there is no local forecast.
Check the 2A (fourth board from the left) for data. This is the second light from the bottom. It should be flickering.

Verify baseband input into the Star.

Call for assistance.
During local forecast, the pages are blank.
The local is most likely still loading. It take approximately 2-3 hours to load.
Unable to dial into the Star.
If the Star was recently reset, it will take an hour or so to load.
If the top 2 green leds on the 1A board are not on, then the software has not loaded.

Call for further assistance if needed.
The Star keeps losing video every few minutes.
Check the red led on the 3b board.

If this comes on when the video goes out, then there is most likely a problem with the video cipher. If not, then tap the reset button on the 3b card.

If this does not correct the problem, call for assistance.
The temperature is stuck on the screen.
Press the reset button on the front of the 3b card.

The local breaks are not running.
Check to see that the local forecast is running. The breaks will not run if the local forecasts are not running.
Verify correct polarity of insertion equipment wires connected to the Star.
Use a meter across the connections on the Star to verify proper operation. (approx. 60 ohms)
Verify correct operation of insertion equipment.
The Star has a stuck character on the radar page.
Call for assistance.
The graphics change color during the local forecast.
Call for assistance.
The temperature sensor equipment is giving erroneous readings.
The local equipment or the sensor board could be bad.
If the Star took a recent lightning hit, call for assistance.
Test the sensor board by connecting a 39k ohm resistor across the EXE and OP1 terminals.

Wait for a few local forecasts, and the temperature should hold around approximately 90 degrees. If it does not seem to be stable, then the sensor board is bad. Call for a replacement.
If it stays steady, then the weather instruments are faulty. Call for assistance.
